Mallini Au Natural: Soap Making Process
Our planning step – Every soap begins with a scent story. I pick a heart note and layer it with harmonising top and base notes to create the perfect aroma. My planning starts with.... Blending process – A delicate process of testing and adjusting essential oils on tissue paper until the scent feels just right.
Designing step – Pair chosen oils with clays, herbs, and botanicals to plan the look, colours, swirls, and toppings.
My researches - Learn about the unique qualities of every natural ingredient and how they blend beautifully in cold process soap. Check properties, benefits, and suitability of all natural additives for cold process soap.
Consultation of chemist - Working with My Chemist – Every formula is double-checked to ensure each ingredient is safe, balanced, and approved for use.
Formulation test – Make a small batch to see the oils, clays, and botanicals in action. Since the base formula remains consistent across all my soaps, I focus on experimenting with natural additives, such as essential oils, clays, and botanicals, to create unique scents, colours, and skin benefits for each variety.
Safety Assessment – Submit ingredients and formula to chemist for Cosmetic Product Safety Report (CPSR) approval (takes 1–2 months).
Label Design – I love crafting a special name and label for each soap, completing the ingredient details once the chemist’s approval comes through.
Photography – Capture high-quality, professional photographs of each soap — both with and without its label, to showcase product details accurately on online platforms. These images support product listings and compliance records, aligning with the MSDS (Manufacturer’s Safety Data Sheet) requirements for clear ingredient and packaging presentation.
Legalisation – Before releasing any product to the market, I notify both the UK and EU Cosmetic Product Notification Portals (CPNP) in compliance with cosmetic safety regulations. I hold a valid Cosmetic Product Safety Report (CPSR) certification issued by The Soaposh Ltd, ensuring all formulations meet required safety and legal standards.
Shop Listing – Upload the soap to our online shop, including high-quality photos, detailed descriptions, and a complete, accurate list of ingredients to ensure customers have all the information they need.
Sharing – Once the product is ready for market, we promote it through Instagram by creating engaging content across posts, stories, and reels. This strategy allows us to highlight the soap’s unique features, natural ingredients, and benefits, while effectively reaching and connecting with our target audience.
